*On style: email vs. e-mail

We writers fancy ourselves as protectors of the language. Style experts disagree over the proper word for electronic mail. Should we use "email" or "e-mail"? I find the slightly preferred "email" is a concise and somewhat sloppy construction; "e-mail" has a perhaps clunky hyphen making it a little longer, but to me emphasizes connecting the "e" in electronic to traditional "mail." So this Goldscribe votes for the latter.

While I'm ranting about arcane points of style, it's past time to lose the capital letters and refer simply to the non-branded "internet" and "web."

A more radical notion is that we lower-case the personal pronoun "I" to a humbler, less self-important "i." Consider the repercussions for humanity to write "perhaps i was wrong."
